This captivating Victorian crescent pendant features 19 stunning opal cabochons graduating in size set onto 15-carat yellow gold.
Converted from an antique Victorian-era brooch, the back of the crescent has an engraved date reading "June 21 1899".
The opals replace pearls that had previously been decorating the crescent. They have a wonderful play of colour, dancing between shades of vibrant yellow, red, pink, purple, blue and green.
The original pin (9ct gold) has been used for the pendant bail, so there is a slight colour difference between the bail and the crescent, with the 15ct crescent being a rich yellow gold tone and the bail being a little warmer.
This magical antique opal crescent is a one-of-a-kind conversion you will treasure in your collection.
Shown worn with the 21-inch Antique 15ct Gold Chain.
