FAIRTRADE GOLD
Lucille London is proud to champion an ethical jewellery industry; we are a Fairtrade registered goldsmith and use Fairtrade gold as much as possible alongside our sustainable recycled gold.
Fairtrade Certified Gold is the world’s first independent ethical certification system for gold. This is more than just gold, it’s gold with heart.
Buying Fairtrade Gold jewellery means you are supporting small-scale miners to receive a fair deal for their hard work, as well as protecting the environment and making life better for themselves and their communities. All gold is sourced from mine sites that meet the Fairtrade Gold Standard; a globally recognised marker of best practice.
Companies dealing with Fairtrade products are also obliged to comply with the standards of the Fairtrade brand.
RECYCLED GOLD + SILVER
Lucille London's recycled gold is made from scrap gold from the jewellery, giftware, medical and electronic industries, with none of the associated human or environmental problems that can sometimes be associated with mining, extraction and production.
The creation process is fully audited and traceable, so materials can be traced back to where they came from.
On arrival, scrap gold is melted into flakes and refined into fine gold to remove any impurities. The newly-recycled fine gold is then melted into bars and grain, to create 100% recycled gold. Throughout its audited recycling journey, the metal is rigorously segregated from any other forms of fine gold.
Lucille London also uses recycled silver in many of the silver designs.
Lucille London also runs a jewellery recycling initiative. If you would like to recycle your gold and silver through Lucille London, please contact us.
ECO PACKAGING
From our metals to our packaging; sustainability is key.
Lucille London's packaging suppliers are FSC® registered. FSC® stands for Forest Stewardship Council® and is an international non-profit labelling system for wood and paper. The FSC® mark guarantees that all materials come from an FSC® forest, where no more wood is cut down than the forest can reproduce. This means better protection of the animal and plant life, and all foresters have proper training, safety equipment and a decent wage.
All of our packaging is eco-friendly and meet strict requirements in regard to toxic chemicals and are not damaging to the environment or eco-system.
