This chunky babe certainly makes an impact!  She boasts a removable extender with chubby oval links and a t-bar, allowing you to lengthen the trombone chain to two different lengths or wear the t-bar as a pendant.
 
Crafted in 9ct gold, with solid links (not hollow) and dating to the Victorian era, she is a beautiful warm gold colour that pairs well with other gold tones, including high-carat gold.
 
Each chain link is stamped '9.375' for 9-carat gold, with one of the trombone links also stamped with the makers mark "J.M".  The dog clip and t-bar are original to the chain, also stamped for "9.375" "J.M".   The bolt ring is likely a slightly later addition and bears the stamp "9C".
 
This fabulous antique watch chain is adjustable and can be worn at various lengths.  The trombone chain itself is 14.35 inches, with the t-bar extender allowing for up to 2.25 inches in additional wearable length, taking the full wearable length to 16.60 inches.
 
The extender has two sections that can be utilised depending on the length you want to wear the piece - there is one link at 1.75 inches and the end link above the t-bar bail at 2.25 inches - therefore, the extender allows you to wear the chain at either 16.10 inches or 16.60 inches at the longest.
