This rare early Victorian witch’s heart, crowned with a diamond bow and finished with a mesmerising table-cut diamond drop, is a beautifully preserved love token reimagined into a wearable, one-of-a-kind pendant.

Originally a brooch dating to circa 1840s, the heart and bow are set throughout with bright, lively rose-cut diamonds, silver-fronted and backed in gold (tests as 9ct). The heart features the subtle right-leaning curve characteristic of a classic witch’s heart, an early symbolic motif believed to signify being bewitched by love or to protect the wearer from harm.

The dangling centre stone is an antique table-cut diamond in its original closed-back setting, repurposed from a different, earlier brooch. It now sits in place of the pearl that once hung in the centre of the heart, adding a uniquely enchanting focal point full of antique character.

To complete the conversion, a handcrafted chunky 18ct gold oval bail has been added; substantial, beautifully shaped, and perfect for adorning your favourite chains.

In very good antique condition, the diamonds remain bright and secure, with only minor age-appropriate wear commensurate with a piece of this era.

Witch’s hearts are amongst the most coveted antique motifs; symbolic, romantic, and steeped in folklore. This one layers beautifully alongside charms, bows, hearts, lockets, and Georgian-Victorian diamond accents. An exceptionally charming and ultra-collectable Victorian jewel, ready for everyday wear or effortless layered styling.
